National Headquarters

This exceptional office space for Adobe’s Canadian Headquarters totals over 117,000 square feet on six floors and is comprised of offices, boardrooms, teleconference rooms, telecommunications labs and gymnasium. With the strict performance guidelines, the space in its entirety is supported by a generator system that will keep it running seamlessly in the event of a power outage. This world class complex designed by IBI Group is not only striking, it is functional. Our most recent work on the new reception area, also designed by IBI Group, and carried out in conjunction with SpaceWerx reflects Adobe’s new corporate look. This eclectic collection of complimentary veneers, engineered flooring, and random block feature wall has a clean, professional feel. The objective was to create a fresh, uncluttered look, that represents and reflects Adobe’s forward-thinking brand.


Award Winning Interactive Agency

A striking, world-class creative space built for an internationally recognized, award-winning digital and new media client. This 20,000 square foot retrofit of a warehouse space in Ottawa’s Parkdale/Hintonburgh area is home to Fuel Industries and includes a curved glass-walled boardroom, professional sound recording studio, editing suite, green-screen studio and many other features. Our client wanted a space that reflected their leadership in new media, gaming, and youth focused marketing. They also wanted a space that connected their brand to their A-list, international clients.


Corporate Headquarters

The corporate headquarters for one of Bell’s most strategic companies. Bell Security Solutions serves a diverse client base and required an office space that seamlessly integrated a professional services organization, network monitoring teams, and sales and marketing organizations. The desire was to create a space that was both fashionable and functional. This was realized in the striking designs by 4te Design Group.


Office and IT Manufacturing Facility

The Ottawa headquarters for this international technology company known industry wide for its exceptional product quality and professional services. Optelian is a leader in the development and manufacturing of optical networking components. This 37,500 square foot space designed by IBI Group includes corporate offices, boardrooms, testing labs, as well as manufacturing space.


Unique, High Design Japanese Restaurant

Our client was looking to combine unique architectural elements, stunning interior design and create an intimate dining experience for this Japanese restaurant on Preston Street in Ottawa. The practical elements of kitchen design and work-flow were taken into account in the planning and build of this 2200 square foot space. The result is a showcase restaurant space designed by Creative Friction that met the client needs of form and function. 


Award Winning Mixed Use Complex

Our experience as Project and Construction Managers extends across a wide-spectrum of landmark buildings. We have worked with a number of clients as construction and project leads and team members. Included in our portfolio is Preston Square. This Award Winning mixed-use complex situated in the heart of Little Italy has established itself as one of the most successful real estate projects in recent Ottawa history. It is home to such marquee tenants as Adobe, SunLife and AON. Barbican played a key role in the construction of the project with Sakto Corporation and APF, acting in a variety of roles including Construction and Project Manager. We not only carried out the management of the construction but also designed the security and telecom infrastructure to meet the specific requirements of the building owners, Sakto Corporation. The scope, scale and complexity of the project demanded expertise in all aspects from site plan approval, design, through to completion.
